phpMyAdmin, wampserver: No activity within 1440 seconds; please log in again

Posted on | January 27, 2014 | No Comments

Problem

phpMyAdmin’s “No activity within 1440 seconds; please log in again” message is slowly but definitely driving you crazy. How to remain sane?

Solution 1

Change the cookie validity in phpMyAdmin by going through the following:

Settings->Features->General->Login cookie validity

When you log in again in phpMyAdmin, this new value will be taken into account.

Solution 2

I worked with the first solution for a while than it stopped working, here’s another way to fix it:

Open the config.inc.php in phpmyadmin folder in your server , if you are working with wampsever, you’ll find it under: wamp/apps/phpmyadmin

Enter the following line:

$cfg['LoginCookieValidity'] = 999999;

After doing some research on Google, the answer turned out to be quite simple:

UPDATE TABLE_NAME set `COLUMN_NAME` = replace((`COLUMN_NAME`), 'string_to_replace', 'string_to_replace_with');
